Introduction
Over 90,000 hardwood species are thought to exist in the world. Of these,
some 4000 have been obtainable for a variety of uses. As the spectrum
of colors and the range of textures naturally abound, the potential combination
is virtually unlimited. At ASB Custom, we place wood selection as a top
priority. The samples we have chosen to include on these pages reflect
some of the projects illustrated in our 'Portfolio' section. Most were
scanned from the actual timber used. Several were from veneer flitches
custom ordered from specialty mills. Also included is a brief summery
detailing our experience with the individual properties and local pricing.
We work very closely with both our clients and suppliers, in order to
achieve the desired result. Because of the differences endemic to this
natural product, consistency varies widely from one location to the next.
The samples therefore are mainly a source of information, not a guarantee
of future availability.
