These tools are used to very accurately transfer the position of rivet locations on aircraft sheet metal or in any situation where the materials thickness inhibits the use of conventional transfer punches. 

It is also very helpful in speeding up the transfer of multiple hole locations when a strap duplicator is excessively slow or in a restricted position.

The kit comes with a knurled holder for hand use, 3/8" drill adapter, hex key, and 5 transfer scribe tools in the following rivet sizes:

-3 (3/32)
-4 (1/8)
-5 (5/32)
-6 (3/16)
-8 (1/4)

The holders are made from stainless steel and the scribes from fully heat treated tool steel and carbide for very long life. They can be used in sheet metal as thin as .032" (thinner if certain techniques are employed) and on aluminum, steel or any other material that can be marked by tungsten carbide. They create a small but accurately defined center mark allowing the center punch to be applied, error free, with no fear of misalignment.

This set is designed specifically with aircraft solid rivet sizing in mind but can be custom ordered to your specification upon request, please contact me to discuss your requirements.

About us

ASB Custom began business in 1986 as a high-end custom furniture and cabinet shop working one-on-one with discerning clients. We soon got involved with corporate aviation and began servicing, repairing, and fabricating interior components for aircraft cabins. This necessarily led to the capability of machining our own unobtainable or long lead-time components. The evolution of these events led to the natural expansion of our work to include more diverse materials and precision processes. We now work almost exclusively in these few disciplines.
