This tool is used to facilitate the cleaning of paint from within the screw head drive slot. It is particularly efficient when used in conjunction with the paint cutter tool linked here and below. It is a very high quality German made automatic center punch, adjustable from 60 - 130 N, with a custom made impact tip and can thoroughly clean a paint embedded screw head in a matter of seconds. 

When used in conjunction with the cutter tool  (sold separately) , it is first applied in two directions, 90 degrees apart, allowing the cutter tool's pilot to be accurately centered. Following the application of the cutter tool, the cleaner tool is given a few more strikes which quickly removes the paint without chipping it out beyond the screw head itself.

This particular version is designed specifically for use with Torq-Set drives but can also be used in a standard Philips as well, it may also work in other applications of which I am unaware and the tool can be touched-up on site for extended service. Please contact me for custom configurations. The Philips specific version may be selected when purchased.  

* Pleased be advised that this is not the factory tip that has been re-purposed, it is a very specific alloy that has been finely tuned to maintain its edge without causing damage to the fasteners encountered in airframes. I would recommend against regrinding the factory point.

** It is VERY necessary to wear eye protection when using this tool as the paint can be displaced from the screw slot at a very rapid speed and may aim directly at the user. Please wear eye protection!

About us

ASB Custom began business in 1986 as a high-end custom furniture and cabinet shop working one-on-one with discerning clients. We soon got involved with corporate aviation and began servicing, repairing, and fabricating interior components for aircraft cabins. This necessarily led to the capability of machining our own unobtainable or long lead-time components.
